General Biography
Eric has practiced law in the Upstate of South Carolina since
graduating from law school in 1989. While he initially
focused on an insurance defense practice and has tried
well-over 70 cases to jury verdicts, Eric has also handled a
wide-variety of litigated matters ranging from litigation
involving business and banking issues to zoning litigation.
He has served on the Executive Committee of the South
Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association since 2000 and
currently serves as its legislative chair. In 1999, Eric
became certified as a mediator by the South Carolina Supreme
Court and has now mediated close to 500 cases, as well as
arbitrating a variety of disputes. He is very proud of
having been selected by his peers as one of the "Best
Lawyers in America" for ADR in 2007 and again in 2008.
While being in the courtroom is still Eric's favorite
part of practicing law, he is dedicated to expanding the use
and understanding of Alternative Dispute Resolution by the
general public and has served as officer of the Upstate
Mediation Network. Eric has also been a frequent speaker and
continuing legal education instructor on mediation to public
groups and attorneys in the Upstate of South Carolina.
