David S. Cobb
David Cobb has 16 years of experience successfully defending construction defect claims, personal injury lawsuits, business litigation, claims against homeowner associations, and insurance coverage opinions. He has significant experience with jury and non-jury trials in state and federal courts, appellate work, binding and non-binding arbitration and mediation, and pre-trial practice. In addition, David has been certified as a South Carolina state court mediator since 2004, and he has mediated and arbitrated numerous matters for other parties. He has also handled admiralty claims, a variety of commercial real estate and business transactions, and matters before the South Carolina Administrative Law Judge Division.
In the construction arena, David has represented numerous general contractors, subcontractors, and product manufacturers in significant litigation matters, including exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS)/synthetic stucco claims, warranty claims, and class actions. With regards to personal injury litigation, he has a successful trial record. He has extensive experience with insurance coverage issues and declaratory judgment actions for construction and personal injury claims.
David was a member of Furman University’s 1988 NCAA I-AA National Champion football team. He has served as the Charleston Furman Club president since 2000, and is currently a member of the Furman University Paladin Club board of directors and the Furman Sports Network’s television and radio broadcast crew for Paladin football games.

Personal Injury
- Obtained summary judgment for an international retailer in a lawsuit arising out of the abduction and murder of a Horry County resident.
- Successfully settled a lawsuit against a video poker operator arising out of the death of a 10-day old child that occurred while her mother played video poker games.
- Represented homeowners’ associations against claims arising from premises liability, covenant violations and fiduciary duty issues.
- Obtained a successful trial verdict defending a grocery store chain in a RSD/complex regional pain syndrome lawsuit.
