J. Munford Scott, Jr.

Munford Scott has been in the private practice of law in Florence, S.C since 1972 and joined Turner Padget in 2006. He was an attorney with the tax division of the US Department of Justice from 1970 to 1972 and served in the South Carolina General Assembly during 1978-1979. Munford has been an adjunct lecturer on basic and advanced federal taxation at Francis Marion University. Munford has written and spoken in the areas of taxation, estate planning, probate, and business valuation. He serves as an expert witness in cases involving breach of trust and cases involving valuation of closely held business entities in divorce actions.

A native of Florence, Munford is proud of his legal career which has spanned nearly four decades.
