John S. Wilkerson

John Wilkerson has extensive experience as a trial lawyer, having served as lead counsel in over 150 jury verdicts. He handles litigation in a wide range of substantive areas including insurance coverage and bad faith, employment, professional liability, drug and medical devices, and business and probate litigation. Many of John’s cases are resolved through motions practice, mediation and settlement, when appropriate.

John manages a litigation team of lawyers and paralegals, and is personally responsible for the team’s strategic development and implementation. He and his team represent corporate entities and individuals in “bet the company” litigation and cases with large implications. John and his team work closely with client representation and general counsel to develop customized strategies for cost effective and responsible conflict resolution in every case. This cooperative approach helps to minimize surprises and maximize the likelihood of a favorable outcome.

John is a native of South Carolina who has developed personal and professional relationships with colleagues throughout the state and across the country through active participation in the organized defense bar. His leisure time is spent in his workshop, designing and building fine furniture. “As a defense lawyer, I spend most of my professional time trying to deconstruct the plaintiff’s case. Creating furniture for friends and family provides good balance.”
