Shannon Furr Bobertz
Shannon Furr Bobertz practices in torts and insurance, municipal law and insurance coverage law. She joined Turner Padget in 2004, after clerking with Justice Costa M. Pleicones on the South Carolina Supreme Court. Shannon has defended numerous cases to verdict involving personal injury, bad faith litigation, property damage and general torts. She has also been involved in drafting motions and briefs for appeal. Shannon is at ease in the courtroom, whether arguing a motion before a judge or presenting a case to a jury.
Shannon has been appointed as an Associate Bar Examiner by the S. C. Supreme Court and has served in that position since 2008. She is also a former adjunct professor for legal writing courses at the University of South Carolina School of Law. Outside of the courtroom and the classroom, Shannon is an avid reader and traveler.

Representative Matters
Shannon Bobertz and Thorne Barrett obtained a reversal of a trial judge’s decision to increase a jury’s verdict. The appeal was of an automobile accident case in which she represented the defendant at trial. Shannon also prevailed on an assault and battery claim lodged against her deceased client.
