William E. Lawson

Ed Lawson has practiced law since 1982. He began his legal career in the Upstate as assistant county attorney in Spartanburg, S.C. He then moved to Horry County to work with a small defense firm for seven years. It was there that Ed developed his litigation skills defending auto injury claims, premises liability claims and commercial claims. Ed started his own firm in 1990, which merged with Turner Padget in 2007. Through the years, Ed has continued to represent corporations, businesses and individuals. Ed handles construction and insurance related matters, and he has a thriving mediation practice.  He was certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court in 1996 as a mediator and has mediated several hundred cases.

Ed is a South Carolina native, and he is active in the Conway community where he resides.

“As both a litigator and mediator, I am able to approach my clients’ cases with a unique perspective. I understand and have considerable experience in both and know when each method is best to meet my clients’ goals and expectations.”
