The firm has enthusiastically embraced the concept of using paralegals as attorney assistants in a number of different applications. Our litigation teams employ a number of talented paralegals who assist in the preparation of complex cases. Applicants for paralegal positions must generally have an undergraduate degree and be a graduate from an accredited paralegal school. Extensive experience as a paralegal may substitute for a four-year degree.
The secretarial and administrative staff is the backbone of the firm. Positions are periodically available in billing, accounting, systems management and a myriad of other positions required to operate a firm with more than ninety lawyers and offices in Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Greenville and Myrtle Beach.

Support Staff Opportunities
Columbia Office:
We are seeking a motivated team player as a Business Transactions Project Assistant in our downtown Columbia office. Duties include the drafting and organization of commercial real estate documents, reviewing title search reports, preparing title commitments in accordance with underwriting guidelines, preparing for commercial real estate closings, and organizing closing documents. A Bachelor’s degree or a Paralegal certificate is required. 2+ years of commercial real estate and/or title insurance experience strongly preferred. Excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SoftPro are a must. Candidates must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must be capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Florence Office:
Our Florence office is currently seeking a Business Litigation Assistant to work on commercial and business litigation matters. Responsibilities include managing complex cases from initial discovery through trial, reviewing and preparing legal documents, maintaining client information, scheduling and calendaring, and file maintenance. Ideal candidate will be a professional self-starter with excellent communication and computer skills and a minimum of 2 years legal experience. Excellent compensation and benefits package offered.

We are seeking a defense Workers’ Compensation secretary in our Florence office. Responsibilities include transcription, scheduling, creating legal documents, correspondence, filing and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2+ years Workers' Compensation defense experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other legal software applications.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Greenville Office:
We are seeking a motivated self-starter as a Support Services Manager in our downtown Greenville office. Duties include coordinating all daily activities and functions of the mailroom, including distributing mail, copying and scanning documents, coordinating outside courier services, providing backup support to the receptionist, assisting IT with computer maintenance, and running business-related errands.
- 3+ years of experience in support services, office administration, or a related position with a strong understanding of facilities management is required.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff are necessary.
- Candidates must be capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Candidates must have the ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds on a continual basis.
- A high school diploma is required and a college degree is preferred.
- Reliable transportation is required.
