Support Staff

The firm has enthusiastically embraced the concept of using paralegals as attorney assistants in a number of different applications. Our litigation teams employ a number of talented paralegals who assist in the preparation of complex cases. Applicants for paralegal positions must generally have an undergraduate degree and be a graduate from an accredited paralegal school. Extensive experience as a paralegal may substitute for a four-year degree.

The secretarial and administrative staff is the backbone of the firm. Support Staff Opportunities

Turner Padget is seeking an Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist in the Columbia office.  This employee will manage the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure that all invoices, check requests and reimbursements are paid, and that all deposits are applied correctly in a timely manner.  Confidentiality of client and firm matters must be observed at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verifies the accuracy of vendor invoices and processes invoices using CMS/Aderant.
  • Manages and processes reimbursements to employees.
  • Processes check requests.
  • Manages and coordinates the daily check run.
  • Reconciles vendor statements and researches to correct any discrepancies.
  • Responds to all vendor inquiries.
  • Receives and deposits revenue for the firm.
  • Accepts, processes, and posts credit card payments from clients.
  • Sets up and accepts all wire/ACH payments from clients.
  • Maintains accurate records and electronic documentation.
  • Works in conjunction with legal staff on non-payment issues involving clients and vendors.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Education and Experience Required:  Applicant must have a high school diploma. 

Prior law firm experience and/or education in accounting is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Flexibility in regards to evolving technology.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
  • Ability to independently and effectively organize and prioritize numerous tasks and projects and complete them under time constraints.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and accounting / financial systems.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of all firm and client matters.
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.


Turner Padget Graham and Laney, PA, a long standing law firm in South Carolina, is looking for a candidate who wants control of their success while aligning with a leader in law, as we continue to grow and serve the Southeast.  Turner Padget’s Greenville office is seeking a highly motivated Insurance Litigation Paralegal

Basic responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Document management and analysis for large cases.
  • Keen attention to detail and organization.
  • Medical record summaries and chronologies.
  • Preparation and service of subpoenas and other discovery requests.
  • Preparation of pleadings and discovery responses.
  • Procurement of medical records/HIPPA compliance.
  • Preparation of routine status reports to clients or national counsel.
  • Statewide roster/docket monitoring.
  • Electronic filings/ECF with Federal Court.

Candidates should have the following skills and/or attributes:

  • Three to five years of Litigation experience is required.
  • Keen attention to detail and organization.
  • Thorough understanding of the litigation process.
  • Experience with insurance company billing requirements.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree or Paralegal Certification is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc…)
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication and computer skills and the ability to manage a large caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Case Management Software preferred.

Turner Padget’s Columbia is seeking a highly motivated Support Services Assistant.  Basic qualifications will include, but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities include:

  • Distributing and gathering various mail items.
  • Copying and scanning documents, with proper billing as needed.
  • Providing backup support to the receptionist.
  • Setting up conference rooms, maintaining public and meeting space areas.
  • Handling closed files.
  • Running business related errands for various departments.

At least 1 year of experience in support services, office administration or a related position is preferred. Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys and staff are necessary. Candidates must be capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines. Candidates must have the ability to lift 5 to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

A high school diploma, valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation are required.
