Barefoot Elected

Congratulations to Walt Barefoot who has been elected Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section Council of the South Carolina Bar. The Section sponsors a seminar at the Bar convention, publishes a newsletter and maintains an electronic mailing list for members. Goals include developing an ongoing relationship with the Workers' Compensation Commission; exploring the feasibility of publishing Workers' Compensation hearing orders and appellate orders; and developing an ongoing relationship with the Workers' Compensation Educational Conference. Other projects include sponsoring a full day seminar on medical issues as relate to claims before the Commission; publishing summaries of significant case law and procedural changes; and monitoringa survey of Workers' Compensation commissioners similar to the one used in the Annual Judicial Evaluation Survey.
