Turner Padget Elects Three New Shareholders

Turner Padget Graham & Laney, P.A. announces that Charleston-based Kristen N. Nichols, Columbia-based J. David Johnson, IV and Greenville-based David L. Moore have been elected shareholders of the firm. Nichols practices in the area of financial services litigation; Johnson’s practice focuses on corporate, tax and estate planning; and Moore is a member of the firm’s litigation practice.

Pierce Campbell, chief executive officer of Turner Padget. “The level of experience in these attorneys is very beneficial to our firm’s clients.”

Nichols is a certified mediator and practices in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial law and litigation, debtor/creditor law and creditor’s rights. A graduate of Leadership Charleston and Leadership South Carolina, she serves as co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee and was recently elected an officer on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Women Lawyers’ Association and invited to join the International Association of Defense Counsel.

Nichols earned her law degree from Michigan State University College of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina.

Johnson has a diverse tax practice in which he counsels clients in the areas of tax controversy, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning and probate administration, business valuation, and ERISA. In addition to his tax practice, Johnson is a faculty member at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business, where he teaches tax and business law classes in the Graduate Master of Accountancy Program. Johnson splits his time between the firm’s Columbia and Florence offices.

Johnson received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina.

Moore is a litigation veteran with a practice consisting of representing clients through their insurance carrier as well as based upon individual retention. He handles complex matters in both state and federal court in South Carolina, at both the trial and appellate level. David is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, recognizing his extensive and successful trial practice.

Moore received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Davidson College.
