Turner Padget Expands With Addition Of Carew Alvarez, Ashley Milan, And Lindsey Behnke

Turner Padget is pleased to announce the addition of Associate Carew J. Alvarez to the firm’s Charleston office, Associate Ashley A. Milan to the firm’s Myrtle Beach office, and Associate Lindsey M. Behnke to the firm’s Columbia office. Alvarez and Milan join the Insurance Litigation practice group and will support the Insurance Litigation team by defending clients with personal injury claims, premises liability, and other general liability claims. Behnke joins the Business and Commercial Litigation group, supporting businesses in commercial disputes and working to ensure favorable resolution to disputes.

Carew J. Alvarez

Alvarez will focus on insurance claims counsel and litigation including personal injury actions and various other tort claims. While in law school, Alvarez worked for the American Bar Association’s Real Property Trust & Estate Law Journal as an articles editor. He also served as a summer associate for Turner Padget from 2021-2022. Alvarez is a recipient of the CALI Award for Topics in Insurance Law and a Golden Spade winner from the ABA Real Property Trust & Estate Law Journal.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Wofford College and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Ashley A. Milan

Milan will work with clients to defend against personal injury claims and other general liability claims. While in law school, she participated in an externship with GrowCo that facilitated the national expansion of a local company. She also served as a summer law clerk for an international law firm and spent time as a law clerk for a real estate firm. Milan co-founded the Latinx Law Students Association at the University of South Carolina School of Law and was co-president for two years. She also did work for the University of South Carolina School of Law’s Pro Bono Clinic and Veteran’s Clinic.

Milan earned her undergraduate degree from Coastal Carolina University and her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Lindsey M. Behnke

Behnke will focus on construction litigation, finance and lending, and real estate matters. She served as a summer associate for Turner Padget from 2021-2022. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a marketing and events coordinator. Behnke initially joined the legal industry as a litigation paralegal before pursuing her law degree. While in law school, she served as a senior articles editor for the American Bar Association’s Real Property Trust & Estate Law Journal. Behnke was a recipient of the CALI Award in Conflict of Laws and Federal Courts.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Cedarville University and her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
