Catherine is an Associate Attorney on Turner Padget's Workplace Litigation team where she practices employment law and defends professional licenses.
Part of Catherine’s practice focuses on general business litigation with an emphasis on employment and labor law. She represents and counsels employers and insurers in nearly all aspects of labor and employment law, including the ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FLSA, ERISA, FMLA and South Carolina Human Affair laws. As an employment lawyer, Catherine drafts a number of employment related documents including employee handbooks, confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and employment contracts.Catherine’s practice also includes defending clients with professional licenses who face an investigation or disciplinary action before various boards at the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (LLR). She guides clients through the administrative process and ensures clients are ready for a LLR board hearing. Catherine and the professional licensing team at Turner Padget work with clients to modify consent agreements, challenge the evidence presented and proposed at disciplinary hearings, challenge temporary suspension orders, assist in investigations of professional misconduct, and help secure a license during the application process. Catherine understands the impact an allegation of professional misconduct can have on a client and seeks to provide a strategic well-planned defense in order to protect client rights to continue their practice.
