Jennifer Kerr’s practice is widespread in the areas of residential real estate, family law and probate matters.
Jennifer is proficient is handling real estate matters including residential closings, owner finance transactions and 1031 Tax Free Exchanges. She represents clients in all types of Probate proceedings from Probating Wills and Year’s Support matters to appointing Guardians and Conservators for Incapacitated Adults and Conservators for Minors.
She handles cases in both Juvenile Court and Superior Court dealing with domestic relations, including contested and uncontested divorce with or without children, child custody, child support and contempt actions. She also represents clients in adoption proceedings, termination of parental rights and legitimation matters.
Having grown up with a father who practiced real estate law, Jennifer literally grew up learning real estate. She focuses on resolving issues for clients in the most efficient manner.
Having been a foster parent herself and serving as the Juvenile Court attorney for children in foster care, she has a unique viewpoint and experience in handling family law matters.
Jennifer serves as a Guardian ad Litem in both Richmond County and Columbia County for over seven years. This has allowed Jennifer to have in depth exposure to all types of probate matters and be able to address issues that many attorneys are not familiar with.
Unlike many family law attorneys who are not familiar with real estate, Jennifer has vast experience in both areas giving her clients the benefit of ensuring that real property matters are handled correctly in divorce proceedings.
Jennifer is certified to serve as a Guardian ad Litem in Superior Court. Jennifer is a member of the Greater Augusta Association of Realtors Young Professionals Network, Augusta Bar Association, Augusta Family Law Bar and is Past President of her BNI group who has held the #1 chapter trophy in the area for over two years. She is the Bylaws Chair of the Home Builders Association of Metro Augusta and the Philanthropy chair of the Home Builders Association of Metro Augusta’s Sales and Marketing Council and a member of the Board of Directors. She is a former foster parent and assists with the Healthy Grandparents Program which helps grandparents obtain custody of their grandchildren.
