Kristen practices in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial law and litigation, foreclosure, real property litigation, HOA litigation, commercial real estate, debtor/creditor law, landlord/tenant law, and creditor’s rights. She serves on the Charleston County Master in Equity’s Bench Bar Committee and is a Supreme Court of South Carolina Certified Mediator.

Kristen has lectured and served as a panelist on several bankruptcy, debtor/creditor, and foreclosure law continuing education programs. Within the creditors’ rights arena, Kristen regularly represents local and regional banks, lenders, investors, and small businesses on matters involving loan resolution, asset recovery, contract modification and renegotiation, and bankruptcy.

A detail-oriented person by nature, Kristen applies a pragmatic approach to her work, allowing her to provide creative yet realistic solutions to problems. Kristen prides herself in great client service, and works hard to build lasting business relationships founded on trust. Her ability to focus on the big-picture paired with critical thinking and a knack for negotiation achieves successful results in even the most complex situations. Her dynamic personality, experience, and ability to actively listen are the reasons she is chosen by her peers to assist in resolution of cases through mediation.

Prior to beginning her career as a lawyer, Kristen worked in Washington, DC and in the South Carolina State House, serving as part of the constituent relations for two senators, which instilled a desire for public service and volunteerism, as well as a determination to focus on identifying issues she feels passionate about and devoting time and energy to addressing them through volunteer work and fundraising.

Kristen chairs the firm’s Women’s Committee and is committed to working to enhance the status, influence, and effectiveness of women lawyers in South Carolina, through her leadership and work at Turner Paget and her position on the Board of the South Carolina Women Lawyer’s Association. Kristen also serves the firm as Co-Chair of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee and as the Client Services and Development Leader for the Business Team.

One of Kristen’s favorite quotes is: “Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” --Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Justice, United States Supreme Court
