Balancing Expansion with Cost, Midsize Firms are Managing Their Square Footage, Law.com's Pro Mid-Market

Posted On February 4, 2026

In an article published by Law.com Pro Mid-Market, C. Pierce Campbell, Chief Executive Officer of Turner Padget, discussed the firm’s recent Charlotte office opening and its commitment to investing in both local talent and the local business community.

On January 27, Turner Padget announced the opening of a new office in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the addition of Shareholder David A. Luzum, an experienced Charlotte-based litigator, to lead the firm's expanded North Carolina presence and client service efforts. Joining David on the Charlotte launch team is Shareholder Ben Calhoun, who is relocating to Charlotte.

Pierce told Law.com that the Turner Padget “believes in the benefit” of investing in a permanent physical office space rather than operating out of temporary or shared space.

“Yes, it is an investment,” he said in the interview. “We just use our best business acumen to make that work, and we believe it will.”

Pierce also noted that the firm’s approach — opening a new office with both a lateral attorney from the local market and an existing firm attorney — creates “a direct connection to the market and back to the firm itself.”
