Ed Schafer advises local governments, associations, non-profits and industries on any problems that may need a legislative or regulatory solution.

His expertise is in governmental relations, lobbying and association management. He has a wide range of experience to include representing county and municipal governments, the housing industry, and disability rights. He was Staff Attorney/Lobbyist for the SC Association of Counties, Legislative Counsel for the Municipal Association of SC, and General Counsel and Director of Government Affairs for the Manufactured /Modular Housing Institute of SC. 

Ed recognizes the value of teamwork and uses creative and innovative strategies to find solutions to his clients’ problems. He enjoys developing relationships with people that can work together to help reach his clients’ goals. His clients appreciate his desire to find practical solutions to their problems. They ultimately benefit from the effective way he communicates their goals and maps out a strategy to accomplish those goals successfully. Ed prides himself on being accessible, responsive, and a quick learner. He enjoys using his persuasive skills to educate decision makers on his clients’ needs.

Ed is a graduate of Leadership Columbia, serves on the Board of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and is chair of the Church Council at Cayce United Methodist Church.
