George “Buster” Bryan is a member of Turner Padget’s insurance litigation team in the firm’s Myrtle Beach office.
His ascent into the practice of law was unorthodox. After graduating from high school on Hilton Head Island, he held the idea of attending college in abeyance. He spent the next seven years earning a living around the water as a boat captain. When finances permitted, he traveled around the world. At the age of twenty-five, he enrolled at Coastal Carolina University. In 2016, Buster graduated summa cum laude from Coastal with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
Buster continued his education at the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 2019. While in law school, Buster was a member of the Moot Court Bar, was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, served on the school’s Pro Bono Board as a probate special visitors volunteer, and worked as a legal writing tutor and teacher’s assistant. Buster was also inducted into the Order of the Coif, the Order of Wig and Robe, and received the SC Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel Award.
Finally, Buster was on the President’s List or Dean’s List multiple semesters and earned CALI Awards in Legal Research, Analysis, and Writing II; Business Associations; Securities Regulation; Health Law and Policy; Advanced Legal Writing; Agency, Partnership, and Limited Liability Companies; Appellate Advocacy; and Legal Writing for the Courts.
Before joining Turner Padget, Buster clerked for the Honorable Gregory P. McGuire at the North Carolina Business Court in Raleigh, NC.
Buster firmly believes that working around the water, and in a plethora of other odd jobs over the years, crafted character and instilled a work ethic that he would not possess without those experiences. His work ethic, coupled with his pragmatic and diligent nature, allows him to excel as an attorney and exceed client expectations.
