Prior to joining Turner Padget, Mya started her legal career practicing insurance defense. Specifically, she focused her practice on representing doctors, nursing homes, and psychiatric facilities in medical malpractice suits.
Mya’s practice at Turner Padget focuses on litigating insurance matters in the firm’s Florence office. She is admitted to practice law in state and federal courts in South Carolina. Mya prides herself on being able to provide her clients with outstanding customer service. She believes in being a holistic attorney who is able to achieve her client’s goals and exceed their expectations by listening to their concerns, having open lines of communication, and using efficient problem-solving skills.
Throughout her time in law school and her time as an attorney, Mya has been heavily involved in providing volunteer services to her community. She has been a volunteer tax preparer for three years, providing tax return preparation services to low income and elderly individuals in her community. She is also an animal lover and volunteers at local animal shelters. When she is not working or volunteering, you can find her reading, baking, or spending time with her two cats, Asher and Louise.
