Mark joined Turner Padget as a law clerk and remained on as an attorney after passing the South Carolina Bar in 2005. Mark has an active litigation practice specializing in business and corporate litigation, complex insurance litigation matters, and probate litigation. He has extensive trial and arbitration experience and has taken over 25 cases to verdict in venues throughout South Carolina.
In Mark’s business and corporate litigation practice, he has represented corporate clients in matters ranging from contested commercial foreclosures and homeowners’ associations litigation, to determining a creditor’s rights when foreclosing on a debtor’s distributional interest in a LLC. Mark’s practice also involves litigation relating to complex employment and insurance matters. Mark’s practice has also allowed him to counsel his corporate clients on the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act or FIRREA that has become more prevalent in the changing economy.
In Mark’s probate practice, he has represented heirs, personal representatives and trustees in litigation dealing with issues such as breach of a trustee’s fiduciary duties and the validity of wills.
Mark’s extensive trial experience and diverse practice allows him to represent all levels of clients from individuals to large corporations. Mark enjoys working with his clients to determine what they want out of his representation and tailors his litigation strategy to accomplish his clients’ desires.
Mark grew up in Clover, S.C., and graduated from the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mark has worked in the Myrtle Beach area since 2012 after relocating from the firm’s Columbia office. Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and playing golf and basketball. Mark is also an avid South Carolina Gamecock fan.
