The Board of Cosmetology Inspection Process

The South Carolina Board of Cosmetology and Board of Barber Examiners employ inspectors who regularly inspect barber shops, nail salons, and hair salons. If the inspector notes a regulatory violation, an investigation may be opened in the office of investigations and enforcement, resulting in possible disciplinary action.

Although the inspector has the right to enter and inspect during regular business hours, you have the right to speak with an attorney concerning any noted violations.
