Iman Hart is an Associate in Turner Padget’s Charleston office, where she practices general civil litigation with a focus on workers’ compensation defense. She is a member of the firm’s Workplace Law Group and is licensed to practice in South Carolina, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.
Iman defends workers’ compensation claims and provides strategic counsel to employers, insurance carriers, and self-insured clients across South Carolina and nationally. She works closely with clients throughout the life of a claim—from early fact development to final resolution—delivering clear, goal-oriented advice that supports informed decision-making. With a collaborative approach and a focus on staying ahead of legal trends, Iman is known for developing practical strategies that align with each client’s unique needs and risk profile. Iman graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, specializing in legal studies, and was awarded the Honors College Distinction at Kennesaw State University. She achieved her J.D. magna cum laude from the Charleston School of Law, where she was recognized as a Presidential Honors Scholar. During her tenure at law school, she held the position of Associate Justice in the Internal Moot Court Competition, participated on the prestigious Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Team, and contributed as an editor to the Maritime Bulletin.
Iman began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in the Ninth Judicial Circuit’s Berkeley County Office, managing hundreds of cases and advocating zealously for her clients. She has been recognized by the National Black Lawyers as one of South Carolina’s Top 40 Under 40. Beyond her legal work, she is the founder and Chairman of Type 1 Diabetes Life, a nonprofit committed to easing the financial burden of medical supplies for those living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
