Ken Carter serves as the Leader of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and specializes in defending complex/high exposure cases in the fields of Product Liability, Construction Defect and Trucking & Transportation.
Ken currently serves as a member of the firm’s governing Executive Committee and has done so for the past seven years. In his 30-plus years with Turner Padget, Ken has often been recognized within and outside of the firm for his leadership skills as well, as his abilities in the courtroom.
Ken and his team serve as lead counsel defending product manufacturers, component part suppliers and national/regional trucking/transportation companies in high exposure cases in all courts in South Carolina. Ken and his team represent one of the “Big Three” automotive manufacturers throughout South Carolina.
In the Construction Litigation arena, Ken represents General/Sub-Contractors and Construction Product Manufacturers in large, complex construction defect cases in all South Carolina state and federal Courts. Ken’s clients include small and large contractors in commercial, residential and industrial construction disputes. In addition, for the last 25 years, Ken and his team have represented National and International Construction Product Manufacturers and Suppliers. He has earned recognition for his knowledge and expertise in effectively and efficiently resolving the complex litigation issues faced by contractors and building product suppliers during his extensive career.
In the area of Trucking & Transportation litigation, Ken routinely defends catastrophic losses on behalf of national, regional and local Transportation Companies. His experience in the courtroom provides his clients confidence that their individual litigation needs will be handled professionally to arrive at the most desirable result.
Ken has been recognized by Benchmark, Chambers and Best Lawyers for excellent delivery in legal services. In addition to an active trial schedule, Ken has served as chair of the Board of Directors for an international legal networking organization - Business Counsel, Inc. - for the past eight years and has been a member of BCI for the last 20 years.
