The firm has enthusiastically embraced the concept of using paralegals as attorney assistants in a number of different applications. Our litigation teams includes a number of talented paralegals who assist in the preparation of complex cases. Applicants for paralegal positions must generally have an undergraduate degree and be a graduate from an accredited paralegal school. Extensive experience as a paralegal may substitute for a four-year degree.

The secretarial and administrative staff is the backbone of the firm. Positions are periodically available in billing, accounting, systems management and a myriad of other roles required to operate a firm with more than 70 lawyers and offices in Augusta, Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Greenville and Myrtle Beach. Turner Padget’s Greenville office is seeking a highly motivated Insurance Litigation Case Manager. Basic qualifications will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Document management and analysis for large cases.
  • Keen attention to detail and organization.
  • Medical record summaries and chronologies.
  • Preparation and service of subpoenas and other discovery requests.
  • Preparation of pleadings and discovery responses.
  • Procurement of medical records/HIPPA compliance.
  • Preparation of routine status reports to clients or national counsel.
  • Statewide roster/docket monitoring.
  • Electronic filings/ECF with Federal Court.

Turner Padget is currently seeking a highly motivated Business Litigation and Transactional Paralegal in our Columbia office. Experience in the following areas:

  • Document management and analysis for large cases.
  • Commercial litigation including drafting of pleadings and discovery.
  • Commercial real estate transactions.
  • Trusts and estate planning.
  • Probate work.

Candidates should have the following skills and/or attributes:

  • Three to five years complex Litigation experience is required.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree or Paralegal Certification is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc…
  • Experienced in electronic document discovery and database management.
  • Familiar with discovery tasks and trial preparation.
  • Familiarity with State and Federal Courts.
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication and computer skills and the ability to manage a large caseload in a fast-paced environment.
