Lauren Mims practices out of the Columbia Office of Turner Padget with a focus on insurance litigation.

Prior to joining Turner Padget, Lauren served as an Assistant Attorney General at the South Carolina Attorney General’s office where she represented the State in Post-Conviction Relief Hearings in the State and Appellate Courts of South Carolina. Prior to her time as an Assistant Attorney General, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Diane S. Goodstein in Dorchester County. 

Prior to beginning her career as a lawyer, Lauren worked as an Equal Employment Investigator at the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission before attending the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, Lauren served in several extracurricular activities. Specifically, Lauren was the President of the Matthew J. Perry Jr. Chapter of the Black Law Students Association, Assistant Articles Editor for the Journal of Law and Education as well as a student member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court. Additionally, she honed in on advocacy skills by participating in the Carolina Health Advocacy Medicolegal Partnership Clinic, representing the families of low-income families referred from Prisma Health to garner SSI benefits.

Lauren brings her attention to detail, zealous advocacy and litigation experience to represent clients to the best of her ability.
