Turner Padget Expands Insurance Litigation Practice With Addition Of Lauren Mims

Turner Padget is pleased to announce the addition of Associate Lauren T. Mims to the firm’s Columbia office. Mims joins the Insurance Litigation practice group and will support the Insurance Litigation team by representing insurance companies and insureds. She will provide claims handling advice and defend insureds from a variety of claims prior to and during litigation.

Mims will focus on insurance claims counsel and litigation including personal injury actions and various other tort claims. Through her defense, she will conduct depositions, mediations, hearings and examinations.

Prior to joining Turner Padget, Mims worked in the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office as an assistant attorney general. There, she represented the State of South Carolina at post-conviction relief hearings and drafted orders for post-conviction relief applications. Mims has also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Diane Goodstein, assisting in trial preparations and researching incoming orders. While in law school she served as president of the Matthew J. Perry Chapter of Black Law Students Association.

She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
